Neck pain physiotherapy in south London, Kent and Essex
Neck pain often builds slowly through long hours at a desk, poor sleep or stress, or comes on suddenly after waking up stiff. Most neck pain settles well with the right movement and strengthening, and you do not have to put up with it.
Common problems I see
- Stiffness turning your head or checking over your shoulder
- Pain building through the working day at a screen
- Tension type headaches linked to the neck
- Pain spreading into the shoulder blade or arm
- Neck pain after a minor knock in sport
How I help
- Assessment of neck, upper back and shoulder movement
- Nerve testing if pain or tingling spreads into the arm
- Hands on treatment to ease pain and stiffness
- Simple exercises you can do at your desk
- Strength work to make your neck more resilient
When to get urgent help
Call 999 if neck pain follows a significant fall or collision, or comes with dizziness, double vision, difficulty swallowing or speaking, or weakness in your arms or legs.
Questions about neck pain
Is my desk set up to blame?
Partly, sometimes. Moving often matters more than finding a perfect posture. I will give you practical changes that fit your working day.
Can physio help headaches?
Physio can help headaches that come from the neck. I will check whether your headaches fit that pattern or need a GP review.
Can this be done online?
Yes. Neck pain often suits an online consultation, with exercises shown and checked on camera.
